Remind Me To Never Become Famous
Aloha family!
This has felt like a very long week haha. It started out with me being asked to speak in church 10 minutes before sacrament meeting started, if you know me you know that I HATE speaking and have terrible stage fright! It goes without saying that that experience got me WAY out of my comfort zone and was a good experience for me even if I did have a small panic attack right before.
I have talked about it alot in my emails but I have been feeling very homesick and felt very alone, last Sunday especially. I have been praying asking God for something that would bring me some comfort but felt like my prayers weren't being answered. While I was sitting in sacrament waiting to speak I felt very stressed and very inadequate. Right before I was supposed to go up and speak I saw my cousin who lives here in Hawaii walk by the chapel doors. I hadn't seen her yet since I got to Hawaii and have been wanting to run into her. It turns out her ward is right before my ward. I was able to talk to her for a second before I had to go up and speak which seeing her before i talked calmed my nerves SO MUCH! I know that this was God answering my prayers. He knew how much i was struggling and put me in a position where I would be able to run into her.
I feel like the BIGGEST thing God has been telling me the past 1½ months is to trust him and have faith and everything will be OK.
On Monday, Elder Gong came to the Visitors Center to film a video. My mission president told all of us that we could watch from a distance but to stay out of his way haha. We'll after he was done filming he came over to all of us to shake our hands and talk to us for a little. It was an AMAZING experience!
I know people talk about going to other countries and random people will come up to them and take pictures but I had never experience it till this week. I knew it was going to happen at some point, I have big blonde curly hair which looks very different from what others are used too. While I was handing out flyers for the tram tour a huge group of Korean girls came walking through. They don't even ask haha, they just started forming a line by me to take a picture. I felt like a Disney character at Disneyland.
I hope everyone has a great week! Feel free to email me about what you did this week, whether it was fun or not:)
