I Didn't Send An Email Last Week... Sorry
Aloha Everyone!
My parents just yelled at me for not sending an email last week, didn't realize people actually read my emails so sorry about that everyone
We had transfer news! Last transfer was only 4 weeks because they wanted to get the sisters going home before Christmas. That means this next transfer is going to be 8 weeks! That is a really long time but me and Sister Alapa are staying together so we are really happy about that. We also didn't move houses or wards. We got a new fancy car though, I feel like a rich mom driving around in my fancy car with my big sunglasses on.
There isn't much I can do with my hair here in Hawaii with all the humidity, it's either natural (big, frizzy, and curly), or I have it slicked back into a ponytail or braid. Twice this week I had people come up to us thinking Sister Alapa had a new companion because they couldn't recognize me with my hair pulled back. We got a call super late one night from a couple in our ward because one of them thought I was a different person and the other didn't, they we trying to settle the debate. I didn't think I looked that different but I guess I do.
We had a TERRIBLE rain storm this week. Nonstop downpour the whole day! the power went out in the whole mission for about 3 hours!! Everything was shut down, nothing at the teaching center or visitors center worked, offices started flooding. It was crazy! Something with our Christus statue narration broke and we won't be able to get it fixed for a month or 2.
Our members have been so amazing to us! One of them invited us over to make cookies for the ward members. She told us she had everything to make the cookies she just wanted us to come and help. They had an industrial size mixer and oven so we ended up making over 450 cookies. We have been passing the cookies out to people in our area all week and it has been a great way to get in contact with the non members in our area.
We had the BIGGEST MIRACLE this week!! Yesterday me and Sister Alapa has our tram shift at the Polynesian Culture Center. This transfer we usually have the invite shift which means the only tram we take is the very last one at 7:00. That is the only tram the whole day that does not stop at the Visitors Center. Normally that's the tram we take, but yesterday we had a member meet at that time so we switch with someone to take an earlier tram. On this tram we were able to get everyone on our tram into the Visitors Center(which normally doesn't happen), show them a video about what goes on inside a temple, and show them the temple model! THEN!!! We got 3 PEOPLES CONTACT INFORMATION!! THATS 3 NEW FRIENDS!!! Me and Sister Alapa have been really struggling getting new friends the past couple weeks so this was sooo needed. This just goes to show that God is so aware of us and answers our prayers:))
I think that's all, I invite you all to attend church this week:) What better way to spend your Christmas then to go learn about Jesus Christ!
I hope everyone has the most AMAZING Christmas. My question for you this week is what Christmas traditions does your family have?
Love you all,
emma♡
