7 Days Without Breaking A Car!!
I think from now on maybe just assume that if I don't send an email it is because my car broke down. Last week the fuel pump broke in our new car 2 hours away from Laie so we spent most of our p day waiting for someone to come pick me and my companion up. The Elder that is over cars in my mission actually thinks I am cursed with bad luck when it comes to cars because in the last 9 weeks I have had 3 tire leaks, 1 tire pop, and now the fuel pump broke. We did see miracles that day though, like it broke down at the one spot we would be able to pull over and get off the road and we picked up food on the way home so we had something to eat while we were waiting. So even though I am cursed, God is still looking out for me
General Conference was so amazing! We invited the Sisters that live on the other side of the duplex we live in to come over and watch it with us cause we have a TV. We wanted to make it comfortable so we carried there couch over so there was enough seating. It was fun in the moment but then when we were putting it back I hurt my back, I think I may have popped my rib out but no worries. General Conference really was so good thought, I loved how many times they talked about covenants bringing us closer to Jesus Christ. Obviously being a missionary I get to talk to people a lot about baptisms and the covenant we make with God but I also get to teach people at the Visitors Center alot about what we do inside of temples and the convents we make inside that bring our families closer
A goal for my mission was to get stuck in the pouring rain. I don't know why but it sounded fun to me. I finally achieved that goal! We were walking across the street to another sisters house when it started pouring rain! We were outside for probably 5 minutes and got completely drenched!
Sister Ko and I got REGECTED at the Visitors Center last week. we were talking to this lady and her son and could tell were Christian of another faith and not interested in what we believed so we just started talking about how we can focus on Christ this Easter. I don't know what we said but in the middle of us talking she grabs her son and said "ok moving on" and just walks to the other side of the Visitors Center and acts like we don't even exist. It was so weird and so sad. But also kinda funny, but mostly sad
Robyn got baptized this week! She was glowing!
We invited Kawehi to keep the word of wisdom yesterday and to support him I will be giving up sugar till his baptism, which is April 28th, wish me luck
My spiritual thought for the week comes from a discussion we had with one of our members on Easter:) We shared 3rd Nephi 10:4 with her and it says "how oft have I gathered you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and have nourished you." After we shared this scripture with our member she told us that just the other day it was raining and she watch a mother Hen gathering all 10 of her chick's under her wings to protect them from the rain. She didn't think it was possible for all 10 of them to fit but sure enough after the rain stopped she saw all 10 of them come out from under her wings. If we relate this to the Gospel, there is plenty of room for everyone to come unto Christ and if we stay under the "wings" of the gospel, when the rain or trails come it will be easier to stay firm in our faith.
Alrighty that's all,
Sister Jensen:)
