Gecko Tails Grow Back

Image
So last week I decided I was going to title all my emails with emojis but the lady that is making a book of all my mission emails said I can't..  Does anyone want to volunteer to come up with captions for me? I won't pay you but you will be payed in blessings. I went on 2 exchanges this week and they were so fun! One was with Sister Kimura, she is from Japan and is the sweetest sister. The other was with my STL Sister Manalo. She is such an amazing missionary and is a great example of exact obedience. One of our members invited us over to make dumplings with them and their friends. the dumplings were SOO YUMMY!!! I accidently cut off a gecko's tail this week in the process of me trying to catch it.  I have been studying the talk by Elder Bednar "Bear up Their Burdens with Ease" and a part of the talk that stood out to me was "the Savior has suffered not just for our sins and iniquities—but also for our physical pains and anguish, our weaknesses and shortcomi...

No Titles

Titling my emails is actually my least favorite thing I do all week so from now on all my titles will be emojis My friend Keith that I met at our online teaching center, who I met back in March, is finally on date! He has been patiently waiting for the all clear for him to get baptized and he is so excited that it is finally happening! His date is set for September 9th so everyone keep him in your prayers. We got caught in a down pour while we were working out this week. It honestly was so fun and if we weren't worried about our phones getting ruined we would have just stayed and embraced the rain.  One of the many things I get to do in my mission is give virtual tours of the temple grounds and the visitors center. I have never advertised them because I hate doing them. I don't actually HATE them but I am very bad at them. Normally you give at least one every 6 weeks, or one a transfer, but somehow I have managed to go 6 months without having to give one. Because I am tra...

Family Reunion

Image
Last Sunday I got to attend the baptism for 2 girls I was teaching in my family ward. It was so fun to see them so happy and glowing! It was also soo fun to see all of my old ward members. I felt like I was at a big family reunion seeing all of them again This week we struggled to get into our area. We had lots of meetings and the time we were available all of our members were at work. Things should start picking up in the next couple of weeks. School starts at the end of the month and our ward boundaries will change so we will have more then 14 members in our ward. Yay Our Bishop had us over for dinner the other day and his wife was preparing for a hoop dancing competition so we got to see her practice. It was so cool watching her dance and then her telling us the story behind the dance afterwards I shared this verse with my friend Keith this week and thought I would share it with all of you too:) It's Alma 38:5, it says "And now my son(or daughter), [insert own name here], I...

God Is Good

We met the most amazing couple this week at the Visitors Center! Sofia and Diego came in have no idea what the temple was and wanted to know all about it! We spend a good 1½ hour with them teaching them about what we believe. Sofia loved learning about the sealing room and the idea that her family could be together forever and Diego loved how all the pictures of Jesus Christ in the Visitors Center were of him happy and full of hope. Sofia and Diego are both from Italy but we were able to get there contact information and give Sofia a Book of Mormon in Italian and we will continue to teach them more when they get home:) I haven't had an interaction like that at the Visitors Center in a really long time so it was such an amazing experience! Our members took us out to the best sit down restaurant in Laie! It's also the only sit down restaurant in Laie:) Lots of my friends that I have made at the Teaching Center have been progressing so much and I am so excited for them! Training a...
