The Holidays
I love how fun the holidays are! One fun celebration after the other.
For Christmas Eve we got together as a mission and had a musical devotional. There are is so much talent in this mission and it was fun to hear everyone share the theirs. Then on Christmas we gathered together and watched Mr. Kruger Christmas and sang Silent Night in all the different languages of our mission (English, Spanish, French, Tagalog, ASL, Samoan, Tongan, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Cambodian and Portuguese). The spirit was so strong and it was cool to see all of our cultures being represented.
While on exchanges at the Visitors Center I got to give a tour to the most amazing family! As soon as they walked though the front doors the spirit was so present. The whole tour I could feel it so strong and it was so easy to see how much this family loved each other. At the end of the tour we figured out that we were giving a tour to Elder Isaac K. Morrison of the Seventy and his family. Looking back on the experience it was cool to see that as members of the church we really do have this light about us and as we draw closer to Christ that light grows. In Moroni 7:16 it says "For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man." What a blessing it is to have that gift!
No one ever let's us do service for them in my ward but this week while I was on exchanges some of the students in our ward were moving furniture around in their Hale(apartment) and they let us help them. I love when I get the opportunity to serve.
I finished my black out year. I was a missionary for all of 2023 which is so wild!
Went to the Temple! I love the House of the Lord with all my heart!
For New Years Eve the family that we live with were having a party outside and they invited us to eat with them and watch fireworks so we did that for a little. It was so fun! I felt like I was home for a little:) Last year I was able to be in bed and asleep by like 9:30 on New Years Eve and I thought I would keep the tradition going this year and was in bed at 10.
Yesterday was crazy! Sister Drury and I were at the Visitors Center on exchanges when their was a message sent out saying there was an active shooter in Laie. Laie is tiny! There is only like 3 street you can drive down so it was kinda scary! We locked up the Visitors Center and went and watch a movie in the theater. Everything turned out ok and no one was hurt. Even though it was scary I felt so much peace knowing I was on temple grounds. I don't think there is a better place to be in a situation like that then at the house of the Lord. That is why my favorite verse is John 14:27 (I have already shared this verse before so I will let you look it up:))
This email was long, sorry about that!
Love you all! Xoxo,
Sister Jensen
