Last Weeks Email
The last 4 day have been absolutely wild!
On Sunday we got a surprise visit from our mission president and his wife at our pad. Turns out, my companions Dad has an unexpected health emergency that requires surgery later this week. Because of this, instead of her leave next week with me, she is flying home today. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
We spent most the week doing fun activities that I will be doing again later this week with the rest of the departing sisters. We got to go to the Polynesian Culture Center(the night show was UNREAL!), we had an Aloha Oe in our ward, and we went out to eat at all the yummy places.
God really is so aware of me. We went on a campus walk this week to share scriptures with our members and we ran into so many people from my past wards. I have been a little worried about being able to say all my goodbyes to my past members but God has been putting them in my path this whole week.
We had our last lesson with Kennedy at the Visitors Center where we passed her off to her local missionaries. It was kinda awkward at first but by the end it was SOOO good! She told us that she prayed to know if what we are teaching her is true and if the Book of Mormon was true and after she felt the spirit so strong. She felt so much love and peace. At the end of the lesson Kennedy said that she can see herself taking that step to being baptized. YAY!
Elder Rasband was in Laie to speak to the students at BYU-H and made a super quick 5 minute stop at the Visitors Center to see all of the missionaires. Something that I have noticed over the last 18 months is how powerful the spirit is around servents of the Lord. It's undeniable!
We had 3 young men come into the Visitors Center the other day that only speak Spanish. Normally we would message the mission group chat and have someone who speaks Spanish come to the VC to help but we didn't think they would be here long so we just did our best to give them a tour. It was really HARD! They knew very little English so it was hard for them to ask questions and it was hard for us to give answers to their questions. We have a couple things at the Visitors Center in Spanish so we showed those to them and were able to communicate with them enough to tell them they could walk the grounds of the temple. It was a really difficult situation because I could feel the spirit telling me they were prepared to hear more but I couldn't share it with them. God is so aware of these 3 boys though cause right when they walked outside a Sister came into the Visitors Center that speaks Spanish and an Elder came in that speaks Spanish! They were able to find the young men and share a message, give them a Book of Mormon, and get their contact information to continue teaching them.
2 Nephi 29:5 says "For I the Lord have not forgotten my people."
God knows His children. He knew those 3 young men were prepared to hear about the Gospel and prepared a way for them to hear it. I know that He knows each of us individually. He know the trials we are going through and He had prepare a way for us to endure and overcome them as we turn to Him.
Love you all!
