Big Things Happening In H2!

Image
I am only a week into the new transfer and I am already learning that it is going to be a very busy transfer for Sister Ko and I. We do not have enough hours in the day to get everything we need to done. We were finally able to get in contact with Kawehi! His life has been crazy this past month and he just didn't have time to meet with us but luckily things have slowed down for him and we have been able to meet with him 3 times this week. We also have him back on date for April 29th! In his own words he is ready to get dunked and I am so excited for him! Yesterday we got a call from one of the members in our ward telling us that her daughter wanted to be baptized! Some background for you, this family adopted 4 kid about 8 years ago. All 4 of them took lessons with the missionaries to get baptized but only 3 of them actually went through with it. Robyn, the girl that wants to be baptized, has still been going to church and seminary every week just wasn't ready to commit. But now...

RIP My Favorite Person Ever!

Image
Last week I had full intentions of sending an email but then we popped our tire on the way home from Costco so I spent my whole p day getting our tire replaced. Thank goodness Tyler was there and knew how to replace a tire... he said he worked at the surf shop near by but we think he was actually an angel.  He changed the tire so fast by the time we were back in the car and on the road again we felt like it never even happened. Yesterday I had transfers which meant that I had to say goodbye to my companion cause she was going home. It was the hardest goodbye ever and I am going to miss her so much! I don't know if there will ever be a better companionship in the Laie Hawaii Mission then Sister Jensen and Sister Peterson. We are thee iconic duo! These past couple weeks have been hard when it comes to missionary work in the area. All the people we have been teaching have been pretty unresponsive and we haven't taught a lesson in a while but we are holding out faith for our friend...

6 Months

Image
I have officially been a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 6 months! While I was on exchanges this week we were supposed to have a lesson with our friend Patrick and his pastor. I was seriously so scared but his pastor didn't show up. Patrick is very nice, I don't think he is actually that interested but he is a nice guy We got to go to the Temple this week! We wanted to do Endowments, I haven't been since they changed it, but they didn't have room so we did sealings. This was my first time and it was so cool! The spirit was so strong in the room. My friend I found at the teaching center hasn't been responding to me or her local missionaries the past 2 weeks, me and her missionaries both decided it was probably time to stop reaching out last week. Yesterday I got a text from them saying they felt like they should send her one more text, so they did and she ended up calling them and they talked about the Plan of Salvation. SUCH A MIRA...

Not Much Happened This Week:/

Image
I have been looking through my journal trying to find something to write about this week and I really didn't do anything so here are a couple of pictures from the week: ☆lunch dates ☆uncle William ☆yummy corndogs someone bought us:) ☆the post office "sincerely regrets the damage to my mail" I finally finished the 4 gospels! I love the New Testament and I am so happy that I was able to read it these past couple months but I am so happy to be done and am now able to focus all of my personal study on the Book of Mormon again. The Book of Mormon is just so special and you can feel the spirit so strongly while reading it. In my reading this week I was reading about Limhi and his people and Alma's people. There is a very prevalent theme in the Book of Mormon that when the people are righteous God blesses them and when they are wicked he doesn't. It seems so simple when reading, if only they had the Book of Mormon back then they would see how silly they were. Sorry I don...

MY BIRTHDAYS COMING UP

Image
This has been such a long week because I have been soo tired! It's a good tired cause I have been having fun and LOVING life but man was I excited for p day. I went on exchanges this week with one of my STL's, Sister Gonzalez. She taught me how to bare my testimony in Español: Sé que el Salvador vive y que el templo permite estar con nuestras familias para siempre, En el nombre de Jesucristo amen. Sad story of the week: I was passing around our meal calendar and while it was being passed around someone STOLE my orange pen!! I loved that pen so much and it will be greatly missed.. My birthday was this week!! It was such a good day:) Sister Peterson planned a surprise breakfast and all the girls in my district came over. She also made a video of a bunch of my favorite people wishing me happy birthday! It was the sweetest gift ever! My mom sent me a file of a bunch of her families stories. I love family story's, they make me so happy to read them This week in my personal stu...

Busy Week

Image
This new transfer had felt so busy! I don't know if it's because I am leading the area that I feel more motivated or what but I feel like Sister Peterson and I are running around like crazy people. We have been painting our friend Patty's shed the past week and it is so fun! She is the funniest person haha, she is 75, has barbie hair, is deaf in one ear so she yells everything she says, and is the most energetic person you will meet. Last time we went over she had us carry a full size toilet into her room that she is going to use to potty train her cat. To thank us Patty took me and Sister Peterson to Turtle Bay for dinner which is SUPER FANCY AND EXPENSIVE!! Sister Peterson is teaching this lady in Nigeria that watches over 19 orphans. When we called them the other day it was the lady in the center with all 19 of her kids surrounding her and after we would finish saying something they would blow kisses at us and say "may God bless you more and More and MORE" Zone...

New Transfer

Image
My goal that I set for myself at the beginning of my mission was to journal everyday for the next 18 months. I am so greatful that I have been able to keep up with my goal because I can not even remember what I did yesterday so my journal has definitely come in handy when it comes to writing my emails every week. We taught our friend Kawehi again this week and we officially put him on date!! He is set to be baptized March 25!! We still have a lot to teach him before that but I am so excited for him! Transfers was yesterday, I am staying in my same family ward but I have a new companion. Her name is Sister Peterson and she is the sweetest person ever! We actually told each other a couple months ago that we wanted to be companions at some people and this is her last transfer so we are both really happy to be together:)  I am also the designated driver this transfer and I am pumped! Friday was the first time I have driven in 5 months and it was kinda scary haha. Didn't realize ho...
