Life Update:))

Hey Everyone! Happy Thanksgiving! I had the pleasure of going to THREE Thanksgiving meals this year, all just an hour apart from each other. I thought God was blessing my stomach because halfway through my third meal I still felt fine. Turns out he just held off the pain till after I was done eating, he's so nice like that/ As soon as I got home I thought I was going to die. Me and my companion both hate giving people hugs so our goal this week is to give each other one hug everyday and we switch off who is in charge of initiating the hug each day.  The best part of my week was my mom sent me A PACKAGE. It had Christmas decorations in it, highlighters, stickers, and so many other fun things:)) oh also KIRKLAND POPCORN YAYAYAYAY. Kahuku High Schools football team won state and people were going crazy!! The day after they had a parade going through all the streets lighting off fireworks and screaming. They go HARD here. I have been reading the the 4 gospels in the New Testament and I...

Hey Everyone! Transfer news was Saturday night. The whole mission gathers together at the Visitors Center in one of the theaters and we watch a slide show of all the companionships for the next transfer. It's really fun to all be together to see where everyone is going to be for the next 4 weeks. I am no longer in my YSA branch which I am soo sad about. I loved all of the branch members and am so sad to be leaving them. Everyone pray I get put back in Sunset YSA branch:) I also got a new companion, her name is Sister Alapa and she is AMAZING! We are in a family ward so I will be fed ALOT! I'm quite scared not going to lie. We already have 3 Thanksgiving dinners planned for Thanksgiving Day and knowing Polynesian families I will have to eat alot, if anyone has any tips and tricks to help me not die send them my way. Thanks so much:/ Because the Visitors Center is open everyday all the Sisters here in the Laie Hawaii Mission have different P days depending on what zone they are i...

This week has been super slow when it comes to missionary work. We find most of our friends when the Polynesian Culture Center brings trams to the Visitors Center but most of our shifts this week were during the morning which is when the trams aren't running. It's OK though because it gave me time to practice teaching and I was able to get to know the other sisters better. My companion got to go to Pearl Harber for a end of mission (she has 4 weeks left) service project so I was put in a trio for the day with the other sisters I live with. I have decided that I have too much fun in trios and that if I am ever put in an actual trio I will not be getting any work done, I can not focus haha. We went to food fest this week which was soo fun! All the different culture clubs at BYU-H make food from their country and sell it at these booths in front of the school. All the food is so yummy and its a great way to check in on your YSA member because everyone from the town shows up. I got...

Happy Halloween

Image
Today marks 2 months being set apart as a missionary! It's crazy, time just doesn't even feel real. How can this be the slowest yet fastest 2 months of my life?  We didn't have much of a Halloween over here. President Bassett asked all of us to be home by 7 on Monday so all the girls that I live with decided to have a party. It wasn't much, most of it was us just watching the mission zoom call together but nonetheless it was fun to all be together. I know most of you won't believe me when I say this but I have become quite a chef here in Hawaii. I can now proudly say I know how to make rice in a rice cooker, eggs 3 different ways, I can cook chicken on the stove top and I can cook veggies in the oven. I also have a FIRE cookie dough recipe that I can make. You might as well put me on master chef cause I'm that amazing!! Actually tho, if anyone has any recipes that are fast to make and have few ingredients that are healthy send them my way because I am going to g...
