Green Dotted

You would think the longer I am out the easier it would be to write my email. Nope. In case anyone is wondering, I will not be majoring in writing when I go back to school I got to go on exchanges with Sister Scott this week. She is the sweetest and most down to earth person ever. Before she came out on the mission she was in the National Guard which is kinda cool! Her job was to load cannons! Our members made us dinner yesterday! That has got to be one of the things I miss the most from being in my family ward, the member meals. For some reason people are more willing to open up when food is involved. My friend at the Teaching Center, Daniel, is on date to be baptism November 19th! Honestly I don't know much about him. I talked to him back in September but he spoke mostly Spanish so I sent him over to him local missionaires and he has progressed quickly. A cool miracle I saw at the TC this week was with my friend Kamazi. He speaks French and Swahili but the missionaries I was send...

Sorry What Was That?

I have been sick ALL week long! Right after my P day ended last week I got a fever and have been sick ever since. Some exciting things that happened in the past 7 days... ☆my left eardrum ruptured ☆we had transfer news! Sister Roskelley and I are staying together for a 3rd transfer ☆my right eardrum ruptured ☆both my ears got infected ☆we got a car again!! I literally did no missionary work this week but I have a lot to be grateful for. All of the missionaries I serve with have been so sweet to me all week bring me food and sending me text to check up on me. It reminds me of a quote I shared in a talk I gave a couple months ago. It's from Elder Hollands April 2009 talk, it says,  "because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so. His solitary journey brought great company for our little version of that path—the merciful care of our Father in Heaven, the unfailing companionship of this Beloved Son, the consummate gift of the Holy Ghost, ange...

Small And Simple Things

I hired my family to come up with the titles of my emails so for anyone is wondering why they are so out of pocket... thats why Sister Roskelleys bike tire popped so we have been during lots of walking lately. I saw God's hand in my life alot this week. I will give one example, I had a really good coversation with my mission president during interviews about turning outwards in our prayers. It answered alot of my questions I have had for a while. Then the very next day while I was on exchanges the sister I was with had the very same questions I had had about prayer and I was able to share with her what I had learned. The funny thing is is that we were supposed to go on our exchange last week but we had to reschedule. I never would have been able to share with her the things I learned from my interview if we didn't reschedule. Definitly a good learning moment for me that God's plan is always better then my plan In my scripture studies this week I was reading about Captian Mo...

Have You Ever Seen A Cat... You Probably Have

This week mainly consisted of 2 things, general conference and cleaning checks. General Conference was amazing! I love being able to hear uplifting messages and guidance from our living prophet and apostles. It brings me so much joy! One thing that does not bring me joy is that here in Hawaii Conference starts at 6am which means we are waking up at 5:15am to get to the Visitor Center on time to watch with everyone. I'm over it though, anything for Jesus! Once a transfer(every 6 weeks) we have a competition to see who can have the cleanest apartment. For those who don't know I am a very competitive person. Here on the mission there not very many opportunities for me to be competitive so when we have these cleaning competitions I go ALL OUT! It is actually really bad. It keeps me up at night thinking about what I am going to clean the next day and no matter how much cleaning I do I never think it's clean. We were one of the last apartments to be checked this week so my poor c...
