Miracles

Image
Aloha! Lately I have been really focusing on asking the guests at the Visitors Center inspired questions that will help me connect with them. Since I have been doing this I have seen so many miracles! One in particular was yesterday. We had a couple come in asking what scriptures we read from. We told them that we read from the king james version of the Bible and a book of scripture called the Book of Mormon. They had only heard of the book so we show them the Book of Mormon corner where they listened to a recording of Moronis promise (Moroni 10:3-5). My companion then bore a beautiful testimony of how the Book of Mormon has blessed her life. The couple really loved how Moroni's promise talks about turning to God with our questions. We can find examples in the Book of Mormon and the Bible where people turned to God when they had questions and God answered them. Both books of scriptures are witnesses of Jesus Christ's gospel and life. As we were finishing up the tour with this c...

Mom And Dad, I Have Been Seeing Other Parents

Image
We had stake conference and zone conference at the beginning of this week and it wiped me out! I have been spiritually drained all week long.  The past couple of days I have referred alot of people over to there local missionaries at the online teaching center. So far nothing had come out of any of them but hopefully some of them will start progressing soon. Highlight from this week was seeing Mom and Dad 2.0(Marie and Chris). I got to give them a tour of the Visitors Center and we went out to lunch today. First time seeing them in over a year I about peed my pants I was so excited to see them!  Not lots happened this week, the Visitors Center was slow and we didn't have very many appointments with members but we did lots of knocking on the students Hales. I feel like I am finally at a place in these wards where I am starting to feel comfortable and know the students. That probably means I'm getting moved soon. One verse I read in my studies this week was Mosiah 26:30 "Yea...

Last Weeks Letter (9/15/23)

I forgot to press send last week... oops. I guess you get a bonus letter. Your welcome:) I don't have a lot of time this week but I thought I would share a favorite quote of mine by President Nelson in honor of it being his birthday last week:) In his October 2017 talk "The Book of Mormon: What Would Your Life Be Like without It" he leaves us with a promise. The promise says,  "My dear brothers and sisters, I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions—every day. I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life." I can confidently say that all of these promises he gives us are true and they are for everyone who reads and studies the Book of Mormon everyday. I love the Book of Mormon and the peace it brings into my life.  If you don't believe that you can receive these promises, don't take ...

1 Year Done

Transfers are today and nothing is changing for me. Sister Roskelley and I are staying together in our same pad, in the same YSA wards. Unfortunately they are taking my car away.  They said other missionaries need it more then us, I beg to differ.  JK, a walking area is going to be so good. Still getting no sleep so that's awesome We have been able to meet with alot of our members this week and it has been so amazing! Tbh I did not like serving in ysa  AT ALL when I first got here but ever since school started I have really started liking it. It's so much more fun when students are actually on campus. I also am finally starting to know who people are and I am growing relationships with the students.  I have a new fear unlocked! Groups of American students are TERRIFYING! let me explain, the only students that were on campus all summer long were the iwork students (a scholarship where they work at BYU-H and the school pays for their education). Most of the iwork stude...

School started this week at BYU-H which means we finally have students here on campus! I am so happy to have more then 3 doors to knock on every day.  I have loved to getting to meet all the new students in our wards! Because the new school year has started our ward meeting times have changed. Both of our wards now meet at the same time. My companion and I running back and forth between both of our wards on Sunday was so stressful. I went on an exchange with a sister in my district, Sister Tai. She is so AMAZING and we had so much fun. My friend Keith, who I talked about a couple weeks ago, has to wait another 6 months for baptism:( I was really sad to hear that news but while I was talking to him this week he was very optimistic and had a very positive attitude about the whole situation. He has been such an amazing example to me of patience. The past couple of weeks I have had a lot of random anxiety. It keeps me up most night thinking about the most random things. One night while...
