Aloha

Image
Not much happened in the last 4 days but here are some of the Highs and Lows of the week: ☆so many lights have been burnt out at the Visitors Center and they finally replaced them. It's so much brighter inside and it looks great! ☆we gave a tour to a cute couple from Utah. They aren't members of the church which is always so surprising to me but they said they love all the temples in Utah so they just had to stop and see the one here in Laie. They didn't even have the temple planned in their itinerary but they had to add it in. It's cool to see that people of all faiths recognize the importance of temples. ☆Sister Drury and I went to the temple today and it was so so great. The AC was out though and the celestial room was 80° They ended up canceling the session after us so it was a tender mercy we were able to go. ☆I got to teach Elders Quorum on Sunday. Never thought I would do that ☆all the power was out on the north shore yesterday. It was out for about 3 hours. We a...

Life Update + Homecoming Info!

Image
I will remind you all as it gets closer but I will be giving my homecoming talk on February 25th @10:30. I would love to see you all there if you can come:) The address is:  680 North 350 West American Fork, Utah  84003 My P day got moved to Thursday this week because we had Zone Confrence on Tuesday. I would say it was the perfect last Zone Confrence. It was all focused on The House of the Lord and how it binds families together for eternity. Something that President Afoka (the Laie Hawaii Temple President) said to us that really stood out to me was "We go to the temple to do the work for those who can't do it for themselves, and in return they do work for us that we can't do for ourselves." I have definitley felt the help of my ancestors while I have been out here serving my mission. Its so cool that we can recieve that strength through those who have already passed on. Highs/Lows of the Week: ☆Zone Conference was obviously a high for the week:) ☆The electricity at ...

First Week Of The Last Transfer

Image
This is the first week of my last transfer. I can't believe it! Where did the time go? Sister Drury and I are staying together as Visitors Center Trainers and I could not be more excited. It's going to be a great last 6 weeks. Highs/Lows of the week: ☆We had our first lesson with Kennedy this week and it went so so well. She is such a faithful person. Her boyfriend, who is a member, was telling us that she is always encouraging him to go to church. Kennedy was so cute and took notes throughout the whole lesson so she wouldn't forget anything ☆There was THE BIGGEST SPIDER I have ever seen at the Visitors Center. I am sure it could have eaten me if it was hungry enough. One of the senior Elders was so brave and killed it for us. He is a true life saver ☆We got a shipment in of the Book of Mormon in Navajo. 1st edition! I remember when I was about 9 months into my mission talking to a man who was helping them translate it while he was serving his mission. At that point they we...

It Was A Good Week

Image
We find out transfer news tonight so I am a little stressed but also so excited for whatever happens these last 6 weeks. Highs/Lows from the week: ☆I went to go brush my teeth and there was a gross little bug on it. I think it was a maggot but I'm just going to pretend it wasn't ☆I got a toothbrush for Christmas ☆Sister Drury and I have become chefs, I also have found a new love for fried eggs ☆I hit 16 months ☆ by the end of this transfer(Thursday), I will have gone on 68 exchanges in thr past 6 weeks! I absolutely love love love VC exchanges ☆I met a lady at the Visitors Center and we figured out we are 5th cousins. Wild! ☆All the Christmas decorations at the VC are gone. So sad. Oh a happy note though I got to go into the attic at the Visitors Center for the first time. It was so exciting ☆This won't make sense to most of the people reading this, but last Christmas(like in 2022) a sister in the mission gave out stickers that had the temple on it and it said "Hawaii ...

The Holidays

Image
I love how fun the holidays are! One fun celebration after the other. For Christmas Eve we got together as a mission and had a musical devotional. There are is so much talent in this mission and it was fun to hear everyone share the theirs. Then on Christmas we gathered together and watched Mr. Kruger Christmas and sang Silent Night in all the different languages of our mission (English, Spanish, French, Tagalog, ASL, Samoan, Tongan, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Cambodian and Portuguese). The spirit was so strong and it was cool to see all of our cultures being represented.  While on exchanges at the Visitors Center I got to give a tour to the most amazing family! As soon as they walked though the front doors the spirit was so present. The whole tour I could feel it so strong and it was so easy to see how much this family loved each other. At the end of the tour we figured out that we were giving a tour to Elder Isaac K. Morrison of the Seventy and his family. Looking bac...
