Merry Christmas:)

Image
I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas! Here is a quick run down of my week for you all: -we had "a night in Bethlehem" dinner with a family and they set the area up so cute -last week one of the sisters I live with told us she isn't getting any gifts from her family for Christmas so me and Sister Alapa went shopping for her and did a secret Santa. It was probably my favorite part of this week -at our missionary training meeting they invited us to be more bold in our interaction with people in our area, Sister Alapa and I took this to heart and were able to find 5 new friends last week. God loves effort!! -christmas eve we had breakfast as a district  -ate acai -called my family on Christmas and got to open gifts with them, Tori gave me the cutest keychain with a nutcracker on it♡ -my goal is to be able to do 1000 jump on my jump rope for my work out, yesterday I did 555. I will let you know next week how I'm doing -I'm speaking in church this sunday, everyone p...

I Didn't Send An Email Last Week... Sorry

Image
Aloha Everyone! My parents just yelled at me for not sending an email last week, didn't realize people actually read my emails so sorry about that everyone We had transfer news! Last transfer was only 4 weeks because they wanted to get the sisters going home before Christmas. That means this next transfer is going to be 8 weeks! That is a really long time but me and Sister Alapa are staying together so we are really happy about that. We also didn't move houses or wards. We got a new fancy car though, I feel like a rich mom driving around in my fancy car with my big sunglasses on. There isn't much I can do with my hair here in Hawaii with all the humidity, it's either natural (big, frizzy, and curly), or I have it slicked back into a ponytail or braid. Twice this week I had people come up to us thinking Sister Alapa had a new companion because they couldn't recognize me with my hair pulled back. We got a call super late one night from a couple in our ward because one...

Quarantined

Image
This week went by so slow haha. It started out with one of the sisters I live with testing positive for covid. Me and sister Alapa didn't need to quarantine thankfully but we did get to wear cute masks on our faces for the whole week yayayay We finally got out into our area this week! Because we share a car it has been so hard to get into our area but because the sisters we share a car with were quarantined we got to go out almost everyday. We didn't have much success while we were out there but we did get to help an Auntie get dinner ready for her family so that was fun. She let us be her taste testers haha One of our member meals this week the mom talked to her kids about the 3 wise men then proceeded to have all 3 of her kids give us gifts like they were the wise men. I think I would have been laughing if I wasn't so confused what was going on. The lady then started going around the house and throw a bunch of extra stuff she had into boxes for us to take. She is a bit of...

Life Update:))

Image
Hey Everyone! Happy Thanksgiving! I had the pleasure of going to THREE Thanksgiving meals this year, all just an hour apart from each other. I thought God was blessing my stomach because halfway through my third meal I still felt fine. Turns out he just held off the pain till after I was done eating, he's so nice like that/ As soon as I got home I thought I was going to die. Me and my companion both hate giving people hugs so our goal this week is to give each other one hug everyday and we switch off who is in charge of initiating the hug each day.  The best part of my week was my mom sent me A PACKAGE. It had Christmas decorations in it, highlighters, stickers, and so many other fun things:)) oh also KIRKLAND POPCORN YAYAYAYAY. Kahuku High Schools football team won state and people were going crazy!! The day after they had a parade going through all the streets lighting off fireworks and screaming. They go HARD here. I have been reading the the 4 gospels in the New Testament and I...

Random Things That Happened This Week

Hey everyone! I don't have much to say this week so here are a couple pictures I took this week:) -me getting ripped raising the flag -Visitors Center all dressed up for Christmas  -senior companion in my new ward -me and my companion♡ -my pretty ornaments  -people I go to the same church with -member meal:)) -my little lizard friend that climbs on my window. We play a fun game where I yell at him for being on my window, he runs away, then he comes back when I'm not looking. It's so fun:/

Surprise! My P Day Is On Wednesdays Now:)

Hey Everyone! Transfer news was Saturday night. The whole mission gathers together at the Visitors Center in one of the theaters and we watch a slide show of all the companionships for the next transfer. It's really fun to all be together to see where everyone is going to be for the next 4 weeks. I am no longer in my YSA branch which I am soo sad about. I loved all of the branch members and am so sad to be leaving them. Everyone pray I get put back in Sunset YSA branch:) I also got a new companion, her name is Sister Alapa and she is AMAZING! We are in a family ward so I will be fed ALOT! I'm quite scared not going to lie. We already have 3 Thanksgiving dinners planned for Thanksgiving Day and knowing Polynesian families I will have to eat alot, if anyone has any tips and tricks to help me not die send them my way. Thanks so much:/ Because the Visitors Center is open everyday all the Sisters here in the Laie Hawaii Mission have different P days depending on what zone they are i...

This week has been super slow when it comes to missionary work. We find most of our friends when the Polynesian Culture Center brings trams to the Visitors Center but most of our shifts this week were during the morning which is when the trams aren't running. It's OK though because it gave me time to practice teaching and I was able to get to know the other sisters better. My companion got to go to Pearl Harber for a end of mission (she has 4 weeks left) service project so I was put in a trio for the day with the other sisters I live with. I have decided that I have too much fun in trios and that if I am ever put in an actual trio I will not be getting any work done, I can not focus haha. We went to food fest this week which was soo fun! All the different culture clubs at BYU-H make food from their country and sell it at these booths in front of the school. All the food is so yummy and its a great way to check in on your YSA member because everyone from the town shows up. I got...
