MY BIRTHDAYS COMING UP

Image
This has been such a long week because I have been soo tired! It's a good tired cause I have been having fun and LOVING life but man was I excited for p day. I went on exchanges this week with one of my STL's, Sister Gonzalez. She taught me how to bare my testimony in Español: Sé que el Salvador vive y que el templo permite estar con nuestras familias para siempre, En el nombre de Jesucristo amen. Sad story of the week: I was passing around our meal calendar and while it was being passed around someone STOLE my orange pen!! I loved that pen so much and it will be greatly missed.. My birthday was this week!! It was such a good day:) Sister Peterson planned a surprise breakfast and all the girls in my district came over. She also made a video of a bunch of my favorite people wishing me happy birthday! It was the sweetest gift ever! My mom sent me a file of a bunch of her families stories. I love family story's, they make me so happy to read them This week in my personal stu...

Busy Week

Image
This new transfer had felt so busy! I don't know if it's because I am leading the area that I feel more motivated or what but I feel like Sister Peterson and I are running around like crazy people. We have been painting our friend Patty's shed the past week and it is so fun! She is the funniest person haha, she is 75, has barbie hair, is deaf in one ear so she yells everything she says, and is the most energetic person you will meet. Last time we went over she had us carry a full size toilet into her room that she is going to use to potty train her cat. To thank us Patty took me and Sister Peterson to Turtle Bay for dinner which is SUPER FANCY AND EXPENSIVE!! Sister Peterson is teaching this lady in Nigeria that watches over 19 orphans. When we called them the other day it was the lady in the center with all 19 of her kids surrounding her and after we would finish saying something they would blow kisses at us and say "may God bless you more and More and MORE" Zone...

New Transfer

Image
My goal that I set for myself at the beginning of my mission was to journal everyday for the next 18 months. I am so greatful that I have been able to keep up with my goal because I can not even remember what I did yesterday so my journal has definitely come in handy when it comes to writing my emails every week. We taught our friend Kawehi again this week and we officially put him on date!! He is set to be baptized March 25!! We still have a lot to teach him before that but I am so excited for him! Transfers was yesterday, I am staying in my same family ward but I have a new companion. Her name is Sister Peterson and she is the sweetest person ever! We actually told each other a couple months ago that we wanted to be companions at some people and this is her last transfer so we are both really happy to be together:)  I am also the designated driver this transfer and I am pumped! Friday was the first time I have driven in 5 months and it was kinda scary haha. Didn't realize ho...

Mission Updates

Image
My mom just let me know that she is making a book out of all my emails i send on my mission. I think that was just her way of making me write one every week. Here are some updates from the past 2 weeks:) -we went to get our tires rotated and oil changed in our car and they forgot to put all the tools away that they used. We drove like a mile then realized the loud noise our car was making was a wrench attached to the bottom of our car -someone came into the Visitors Center and told me where the Mormons come from. In case anyone was wondering we come from Germany and we don't use electricity in Canada. Now I know for when the next person asks me -we had more lessons with Kawehi and we taught him the Plan of Salvation and asked him to pray about a baptism date. He has such a desire to be baptized! -played pickle ball as a district and I was SOO GOOD!! I've decided I'm going to go pro -did serve for members and they had the CUTEST pet duck. It's name is Mingming -our power...

Life Update:)

Image
Here are some updates for the past couple weeks: -i still haven't gotten past 555 jumps on my jump rope:( I'm getting a consistent 500. But I have seen improvement on how long it takes me to do it so that's good -went on 3 exchanges in the past 3 weeks, I LOVE EXCHANGES!! -referred Christy, who i met at our online teaching center to there local missionaries who seemed SO READY but has since stopped responding to me:( I have hope for her though. Everyone pray that her heart will be softened -made my first friend (investigator) in the area, his name is Kawehi and his is so so so AWESOME!! The first day we met him we were sitting down with him and his wife for dinner and before we even started eating he told us that his goal is to be baptized by the end of the year! This man is so ready and so prepared and I am so excited to be the one that gets to help him on his path -not only did we make one friend in the area we made 2! We met Patty when she asked for some help building so...

Merry Christmas:)

Image
I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas! Here is a quick run down of my week for you all: -we had "a night in Bethlehem" dinner with a family and they set the area up so cute -last week one of the sisters I live with told us she isn't getting any gifts from her family for Christmas so me and Sister Alapa went shopping for her and did a secret Santa. It was probably my favorite part of this week -at our missionary training meeting they invited us to be more bold in our interaction with people in our area, Sister Alapa and I took this to heart and were able to find 5 new friends last week. God loves effort!! -christmas eve we had breakfast as a district  -ate acai -called my family on Christmas and got to open gifts with them, Tori gave me the cutest keychain with a nutcracker on it♡ -my goal is to be able to do 1000 jump on my jump rope for my work out, yesterday I did 555. I will let you know next week how I'm doing -I'm speaking in church this sunday, everyone p...

I Didn't Send An Email Last Week... Sorry

Image
Aloha Everyone! My parents just yelled at me for not sending an email last week, didn't realize people actually read my emails so sorry about that everyone We had transfer news! Last transfer was only 4 weeks because they wanted to get the sisters going home before Christmas. That means this next transfer is going to be 8 weeks! That is a really long time but me and Sister Alapa are staying together so we are really happy about that. We also didn't move houses or wards. We got a new fancy car though, I feel like a rich mom driving around in my fancy car with my big sunglasses on. There isn't much I can do with my hair here in Hawaii with all the humidity, it's either natural (big, frizzy, and curly), or I have it slicked back into a ponytail or braid. Twice this week I had people come up to us thinking Sister Alapa had a new companion because they couldn't recognize me with my hair pulled back. We got a call super late one night from a couple in our ward because one...
